Overview
What acupuncture is and how it helps
Acupuncture has been used for over two thousand years and, in a modern clinical setting, sits comfortably alongside evidence-based physiotherapy. Fine, single-use needles are placed at specific anatomical points to stimulate the body's own pain-relieving and healing responses, reduce muscle tension, and improve local circulation. Treatment may involve a single needle for a localised problem, or several needles across different areas for more widespread pain.
Connor uses Western medical acupuncture, informed by anatomy and neurophysiology rather than traditional meridians. Needling stimulates the nervous system, releases tight muscle bands and trigger points, and reduces pain sensitivity through a combination of local and central effects.
It works particularly well as part of a wider plan — for muscle tension that keeps coming back, headaches that have a musculoskeletal driver, tendinopathies that have stalled, and chronic widespread pain conditions like fibromyalgia where standard treatment alone has hit a ceiling.
Most patients feel only a slight aching or tingling sensation when needles are inserted, which is considered a normal therapeutic response. Any post-treatment soreness usually resolves within 24 to 48 hours.

What people say
“I have seen Connor for three separate problems and every time he has filled me with confidence — his knowledge, how approachable he is, and how he works to help and manage my problems. He explains everything in understandable words and gave me exercises to do that were achievable and very effective in managing my pain and discomfort. He is just a fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly physio giving help that works. I would recommend him to anyone. Thank you Connor.”
