Targeted relief for stubborn pain
Injection Therapy
Corticosteroid injections delivered by a chartered physiotherapist trained in injection techniques. Used where physiotherapy alone has not been enough.
30 minutes (including assessment)
Overview
What injection therapy is and how it helps
Injection therapy delivers anti-inflammatory medication directly to a painful or inflamed structure, so it works exactly where it is needed and at much lower systemic doses than oral medication. The medication used is corticosteroid — a synthetic version of cortisol, the body's own anti-inflammatory hormone. By suppressing the inflammatory response in that specific tissue, it reduces pain quickly and gives the area the chance to settle so rehabilitation can progress.
Every injection follows a full clinical assessment. Connor will only proceed if the diagnosis supports it and you have understood the risks, benefits, and alternatives. A clean, aseptic technique is used and you are asked to remain in the clinic for fifteen minutes afterwards as a precaution.
Side effects are rare and the technique is designed to minimise them. The most common is a flare of pain in the first 24 to 48 hours before the steroid takes effect; you will be given clear advice on what to watch for and when to get back in touch.
An injection on its own rarely solves the underlying problem. It is paired with a rehabilitation plan to address what made the area painful in the first place, so the benefit lasts longer than the medication itself.

What people say
“I can highly recommend Connor. I had been told that I needed a knee replacement but really wanted to put it off for as long as possible. Connor and I discussed my options and I decided to have an Arthrosamid injection. Before having the injection with an orthopaedic consultant at Benenden Hospital, Connor gave me a programme of strength exercises for my hips and glutes. I have continued with the physio exercises Connor recommended after the injection and I can definitely feel an improvement in my knee — I no longer limp.”
